Janice Kozma Obituary. Janice Kozma passed away peacefully at her home on November 9. Jan was born on December 20, 1945 in Wyandotte, Michigan to parents William and Mary Pedica Kozma. She grew up in Trenton, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan where she obtained her B.A., M.A. and in 1973 her Ph.D. in Italian.Osher. In 2004, KU received a charter from The Bernard Osher Foundation in San Francisco to establish a branch of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Osher, a 90-year-old millionaire who started the World Savings Bank, established the foundation in 1977, which today supports 120 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes across the U.S. ...The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at KU was established in 2004 by a grant for the Bernard Osher Foundation as an outreach program of the University of Kansas.
